So thankfully, Mr. DJ is back from Miami and we can proceed with wedding plans. This weekend we were able to scratch one more thing off our "To Do" list; finding a hotel for ourselves and our guests. Mr. DJ, my Mom and myself met with Ashly at the Hilton Garden Inn and she was the sweetest thing to work with. She gave us a tour of the hotel and then fed us strawberry shortcake while we discussed group pricing. The hotel was intimate, clean and cute. We blocked off ten rooms for our guests. You can book either a room with a King size bed for $109 or two queens for $114. They also have a few suites guests can book. These price was about the same for other hotels in the area.
The main reason why we decided to go with this hotel was transportation. If we do reserve ten rooms, the hotel offers free shuttle service for all those staying in the hotel, to and from the reception. Pretty much we would be killing two birds with one stone. Because we will be having an open bar we are concerned about drinking and driving; however, providing transportation for all our guests is not in the budget. We figure this gives guests who know they will be drinking the opportunity to avoid the driving part. Many family members and friends have already voiced their appreciation for the hotel/shuttle service. So feel free to call and book your room now!
