Love Is Sweet

When guests attend a wedding they always look forward to dessert, or at least I know I do. For our wedding we wanted to make sure there was something sweet for everyone's particular sweetbuds, so we offered a wide variety of options. We had our traditional wedding cake, which was classic, square and white. The pink scroll work added some elegance and tied it in with the rest of our decor. The cake came from Bread Basket, a bakery in Camarillo that is known for their amazing dessert. We had two layers of vanilla and their famous fruit basket filling and two chocolate layers with raspberry filling. The latter was my personal favorite. My SIL almost made adorable cupcakes. If you know me, you know I love cupcakes. They were a must have for the wedding. SIL also made the groom's cake, which was a turntable in honor of Mr. DJ. We also had a dessert buffet that included everything from rock candy, chocolates, and homemade Mexican wedding cookies (made by my aunt and great-aunt.) We also had cute take out boxes so guests could take their sweet treats home if they chose to. These worked out great because people also filled them with their leftovers and very little food was wasted (gotta love that!) I was concerned that it was going to be a sugar overload and that we were going to have tons of sweets leftover. I worried in vain, there was nothing left over! The only thing we got to take home was the top layer that they saved for us, which we ate the next day at our gift opening party. I guess in our case, the more dessert the better.
