Turning 27 Was A Good Time

I'm back from recovering after a long and fun birthday weekend. Friday we went to dinner and salsa lessons/dancing at Sugarbeets with my family and some friends. Saturday I hung out with the hubby and we had another cake at my parents' house. The hubby and I had a romantic dinner alone at Milano's. It's kind of become a birthday tradition of ours to eat there for my bday. Sunday we went to Santa Barbara to eat a lot more, shop and party! Monday I was pooped! Here are some pictures from the weekend! Enjoy. xoxo

I took some Sprinkles cupcakes to the restaurant but the Mr. surprised me with a cute cake. He wins.

Birthday wish!

The hubby and I at dinner

My surprise the next morning

Not sure where he got this idea..but it is too cute! It was a voucher for boots I wanted. The "Terms & Conditions" portion said he must be present to witness my joy. lol. And yes I already used my voucher!

The card was beautiful. It made me cry as usual. And I got my Adele CD and the book I have been wanting to read "Run Like A Girl"

On Sunday we went to Santa Barbara to hang out with friends. Here is a picture of us at Alice Keck Park with our friends' son.

Then we met up with some of my college friends and had a wonderful reunion night! It was a great birthday weekend!!!

It's My Birthday!

I am 27 today! 27 sounds so adult-like, doesn't it? You can't really say mid-twenties anymore, you are entering your late 20s.  I am so excited to be 27 as weird as that may sound. I'm excited to be "grown-up" but still allowed to be young and fun. I am also in the best shape of my life and am so happy with all that I have accomplished in my life thus far. I feel settled and I feel like I know myself better these days. I can't wait to see what year 27 has in store for me!

Birthday Part 1

I didn't give any hints or clues as to what I wanted for my bday this year, because well I didn't need anything. I know this made it tougher for my loved ones. But despite not guiding anyone, friends and family know me oh so well and showered me with wonderful gifts that I love! Here are a few

I love cupcakes and I love trying out new ones. MOH's BF got me cupcakes from Yummy Cupcakes. They are so cute. The shop is in Santa Monica if you are in the area.

My MOH, D got me this along with some comfy slippers. I love Juicy and I love pink. It is the cutest comfiest sleeping shirt ever. It is awesome for the hot summer nights.

My sister got me this with some candles. I love decorating! Love it.

I am a movie addict. It is one of the Mr. and I's favorite things to do to unwind. Thanks auntie!

My mommy got me these UGG boots. I just love UGGs. They are so warm, comfy and wintery. I cannot wait until fall to sport them. Super cute!
I am getting more into cooking these days and they say I am the awesome appetizer queen, so this book is perfect for me! I cannot wait to try out the recipes. This came from the Mr.s cousin who I love dearly.

The Carrie Diaries
I am so excited to read this book! I am a huge SATC fan and I <3 Carrie! And how stylish is the cover?

I also got cash, a scarf, lunch and dinner paid for and another auntie paid for a mani and pedi today! More on the Mr.s present to me soon. I guess you get a lot when you ask for nothing ;)

Well Hello There 26

It is so nice to finally meet you.

It's midnight and I am officially 26. No more 25 year old here. But I must say this past 25th year of life sure was good to me. I got married to an amazing man, we visited the wonderful city of NYC, we became home owners, took a cruise to Rosarito and I graduated with my Master's Degree. Phew! So much was accomplished and I was blessed in so many ways. I am so grateful for this life-changing year and I cannot wait to see and experience all the amazing things that year 26 will bring.

Everyone keeps asking me what I want for my birthday and I seriously cannot think of a thing. I literally have everything I want and I could not be happier. It already really is a very Happy Birthday for me.

My Birthday

Yesterday was my 25th birthday. It was such an important birthday because well 25 is a big deal (quarter-life crisis!) and it is my last birthday as a single girl! I had a wonderful day! I went to work where I was surprised by my co-workers with some of my favorite cupcakes Crumbs. Then it was off to dinner with my entire family at a beautiful restaurant by the harbor. My Mom made me a calendar with pictures of my nephew. And if you are wondering about Mr. DJ, well my hubby to be really really REALLY spoiled me this year with an amazing purse and a gift card for a mani pedi. His cousin got me a gift card to Ulta, a local beauty store. But the two most beautiful things I received where their cards. The messages were heartfelt:

From his cousin:

Julie,

Happy, happy, happy birthday! I hope today and every moment coming to you are just as wonderful and amazing as you are. We are so lucky to have you in our lives and I couldn't imagine a more perfect girl for my cousin. I'm so glad you are part of our family now because we all adore you. So keep being the charming treasure you are because that's what comes to my head when I think of you.

Love, love, love ...R

From Mr. DJ:

The card read: Happy Birthday to my wife, my love, my very best friend. No one has more to celebrate than I do.

His message read:

Julie:

I know, I'm jumping ahead of myself...I'm calling you my wife already, but I like how that sounds -I can't help it. I love you so much and am so excited to be sharing such life milestones with you. Though we are both 25 now, we have so much more life to live- TOGETHER. I hope you remember this day forever and that everything you wish for when you blow out your candles comes true- I'm gonna do everything in my power so that those wishes come true. I love you!

Mr. DJ (your husband)

I love this man and I adore his family. I am so lucky to become a part of it. Needless to say I cannot wait to read my card from him on our wedding day!
